This study does not explain the actual link between big parents and big kids; therefore, the genetics theory is still a plausible one. Furthermore, this article should only upset those people who are concerned about weight issues. If you have looked at the actual science behind the 'obesity epidemic,' you'll know that there is no proven danger in having a fat kid. Heart disease? Diabetes? The only proven risk factor is heredity. If you're a chunky mom with no family history of such diseases, chances are, your kids are safe.
