I already read to her and I have the foam letters, but I guess I was unsure I was going about it in the right way...

i wouldn't waste the money. Each kid learns at their own pace ..some kids will learn reading earlier than others no matter what circumstances or how old they are. and some kids will learn other things sooner than others as well. Just let her learn at her own pace. keep reading to her though and encouraging it!

Don't waste your money on a program - you yourself can teach your child to read :)

I was wondering about this myself Amanda. My sis in law ordered it for her down syndrome son. He will be three in a week and still does not talk. All he says is bye mama and dada. She was hoping it would help him. I guess it's all preference. I had thought about it, maybe try the 30 day thing at the very least. But I figure I could teach her a lot of stuff myself. I already see her doing so much as it is!

NO I agree. Dont spend the money. Kids do learn at their own pace. their brains are like little sponges from 0-5. it is proven that kids learn all they need to in the first 5 years. (as far as life skills go like eating, walking, talking, reading, writing, etc) people throw flash cards at their kids at 2 thinking its going to make them geniuses or something. dont get me wrong, some kids respond to that..but kids bodies and brains are developed to do things in a certain order and at a certain point in time. Like sitting in exisaucers for instance. a child can not safely sit in one until they are able to sit up on their own with no help. but I have heard of people putting kids as young as 3 months in one! a 3 month old does not have the muscle mass or head control for something like this. that baby could be injured because someone wants to say their baby did it first. I see this alot at work. many injuries are preventable. I have always let Gracin do things on her own time. I never have had to "wein" SP? her from anything. she does it all on her time. not that that works for everyone but theres a time for everything. now using this sort of thing for a downs child may indeed be a good thing because he/she is behind for her/his age and this might help. JMO sorry i went off subject

i think the best way to get your kid into reading, and talking is just to read to them yourself, and talk to them like there a real lil person ya know, thats what ive been taught. Flash cards are great too! I have all different kinds.

I know this post is kinda old...but i have really been thinking about getting this for Mikayla...she loves watching T.V. and reading books, and she is just like a little sponge when it comes to learning and I really think she would benefit from these video, but it is so expensive...I just don't know if it will be worth the money??? I think we might wait until we get income tax and then order it...It does have a $14.95 30 day trial so i think if she doesn't watch it i could send it back~ I just think it would be worth a shot!! If you have seen the video's they show on T.V or on the website then you know how cool it is! Why not give your child a head start in life? Just my thoughts and opinions!! What do yall think?

Amanda, the other night I was looking for something to watch on TV..and I saw an info-mercial for "your baby can read". I was TOTALLY addicted to watching it. I couldnt believe that all those little kids were reading so well. I am thinking about getting it for Sawyer now, although I am like you Sawyer's attention span isnt for very long lol. I am not sure if he will watch it or not either...
