Indigo/Star Children - What do you think about this??
Indigo Children are supossed to be the NEW generation of Children - and are supossed to be the answer to why alot of our children these days are so Hyper and dont listen -LOL hence they say Indigo Children are alway getting misdiagnosed as having ADD/ADHD

Here is a link to a questionaire to see if your kid is an Indigo Child

http://www.metagifted.org/topics/ metagifted/indigo/ isYourChildAnIndigo.html

My step-son was diagnosed as ADHD when he was 5 and his dad refused to put him on meds and we have struggled with him in for years - but he has gotten better ever since we learned about Indigo Children and started applying some of their ideas in raising an Indigo child (Such as allowing him to express himself creatively, meditation, child stress management - and so on)Now I dont believe everything they say but alot of it makes sense and has worked for him - He gets better grades - though he still has trouble with paying attention - he is doing much better with his attitude and behavior

Here is a poem that was on the site that I think says alot as far as the Human mind goes

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, "Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?"
Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God.
Your playing small doesn't serve the world.
There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that
other people won't feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine, as children do.
We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give
other people permission to do the same.
As we're liberated from our own fear,
our presence automatically liberates others.

This concept of Indigo Children is fairly new
I'm sure alot of you have never heard of it - Chris & I just discovered it last year and find it interesting - but like I said I dont believe everything about it - except that children these days are alot smarter than we were as kids and alot more evolved - but I think that happens in every generation - but who knows how smart & magnificent we could be if we used more than 10% of our brains -LOL
just a thought

Here is a Defintion of Indigo Children for a better understanding

What's an Indigo Child??

by Wendy H. Chapman

Indigo Children are the current generation being born today and most of those who are 8 years old or younger. They are different. They have very unique characteristics that set them apart from previous generations of children. The name itself indicates the Life Color they carry in their auras and is indicative of the Third Eye Chakra, which represents intuition and psychic ability. These are the children who are often rebellious to authority, nonconformist, extremely emotionally and sometimes physically sensitive or fragile, highly talented or academically gifted and often metaphysically gifted as well, usually intuitive, very often labeled ADD, either very empathic and compassionate OR very cold and callous, and are wise beyond their years. Does this sound like yourself or your child?

Indigos have come into this world with difficult challenges to overcome. Their extreme levels of sensitivity are hard to understand and appreciate by parents who don't share this trait. Their giftedness is unusual in such high numbers. Their nonconformity to systems and to discipline will make it difficult to get through their childhood years and perhaps even their adult years. It is also what will help them accomplish big goals such as changing the educational system, for instance. Being an Indigo won't be easy for any of them, but it foretells a mission. The Indigo Children are the ones who have come to raise the vibration of our planet! These are the primary ones who will bring us the enlightenment to ascend.

There's a very good chance your child is an Indigo if he/she was born after 1992. About 85% or higher of children born in '92 or later, 90% born in '94 or after and 95% or more born now (some even say 99%) are Indigo Children! Does this mean you aren't one if you were born prior to 1992? No! I've heard reports that they started coming in the 80s, but that means coming in larger numbers. I believe there have been Indigos born in every year, but perhaps not in high enough percentages to notice their presence and see what makes them so unique. So can you be a 24 yr old Indigo or a 50 year old one? Yes!

Like I said I dont buy into all of it but just the obvious - I'm a pretty highly gifted (creative ) person myself - but it was not supported when I was a child - my parents weren't very open to me expressing myself creatively as far as art and singing and dancing and writing -LOL - It was all just too much for them - they were always telling me to just pick one thing - but I didn't want to - I wanted to do it all - I still do -LOL - I wont do that to Shonara - whatever she is capable of doing - by all means I will allow her to be herself

Top 10 Tips for Parenting Indigos

BE HONEST

Give complete explanations as much as possible for their intelligence and maturity.

DON'T MANIPULATE

No guilt trips. They don't work with Indigos.

SHOW THEM RESPECT

They are only smaller in age, but often wiser in spirit. Don't talk down to them, they will resent it. Show respect. Treat them as equals as much as possible. Let them help to create rules and the consequences. Make sure they have limits that will protect them.

EMPOWER THEM

Let them develop autonomy by doing as much as they can themselves. Let them choose clothing. Teach them to bathe themselves at a young age.

RESPECT THEIR PSYCHIC SKILLS

Help to develop these metagifted talents with practice, classes, and encouragement.

TEACH THEM ENERGY SHIELDING and GROUNDING SKILLS

Indigos are very sensitive to emotions. They will have severe mood swings and the moods are often caused by picking up on the energies of others around them. Training in various energy healing techniques can help with this.

TEACH THEM RELAXATION SKILLS and MEDITATION

These skills will help them be better able to handle life, find balance, and connect with the spirit world.

RESPECT THEIR EMOTIONAL AND PHYSICAL SENSITIVITY

which is bound to be extreme and seem unusual, but they're NOT kidding and they may need your help to tolerate these feelings.

FIND ALTERNATE THERAPY FOR ADD AND OTHER DIFFABILITIES

Don't give them medication such as Ritalin, etc, for ADD or other 'diffabilities'. Find alternate means of working with these behaviors, such as nutritional supplements, flower essences, behavioral modifications, and allowing student choices in learning.

HELP THEM DEVELOP AWARENESS OF THEIR INDIGO NATURE

AND THEIR MISSION IN LIFE

The Indigos are all here for a reason. They have unique behavioral characteristics so they will be better able to help bring in the new energies and help improve the world. Until they realize this, they may have great difficulty dealing with their humanity and handling the difficulties of being oversensitive and different. If they learn there is a reason for their differences, they will be better able to handle them and work towards their mission of planetary ascension.

by Wendy H. Chapman

again like I said I dont believe everything about it - not too sure about the whole psychic abilities thing or planetary ascension -not exactly sure what that means -LOL - but I do think anything is posible - Police use psychics to find murder suspects and it works alot of times - I believe Humans are capable of alot more than we can even phathom right now - Its like I said before if we use more than 10% of our brains than who knows -LOL - But as OPEN minded as I am - and I am extremly open minded - there are still lots of things I will always be skeptical about - hee hee

Anyway what do you all think of this concept - I mostly just find it extremly interesting

My daughter is ten and according to that she is an indigo child. As much as I'd like to blame someone else for her unpleasant behavior I have to say I'm skeptical. Alot of those questions would pertain to nearly any ten year old...

LOL yep - i guess its why it says any kid born after 1992 - but then it goes to say that you could be an Indigo Child and be 24 or even 55 LOL - So as far as the Questions go I guess I am one too - hee hee

Anyway I do like alot of the ideas but some of them are just plain hokey I think
Though I am very New Age minded myself - I only find it interesting and after applying some of the ideas with my step-son and seen that they have worked - it does make me wonder though
Anyway One of my friends is like way into this Idea and ofcourse she doesn't have any kids -LOL

LOL that is SO true - It was my friend Deana that told us about the whole Indigo thing - and she doesn't have kids nor does she want them - LMAO !!

I think all in all its just taking natural ways to deal with a child and their issues rather than medicating them - when there may not be anything wrong with them in the first place -but just alot of misunderstandings or miscomunication

I know that my step-son has benefited from Meditation groups and being able to be as artistic as he wants to be - Before when he lived with his mom (she passed away)- she didn't allow him to draw or paint cause she didn't like him making a mess and she tought it was silly - so I guess he felt stiffled - who wouldn't -She also just allowed him to eat sugar all day ( Total Sugar Baby) and do whatever he wanted as long he didn't bother her (Sad but true) he started getting diagnosed as ADHD - cause he was out of control

Now he is so much better after taking a natural approach to him - and getting him on a better diet -LOL

supernanny is pretty good. We used the whole naughty chair when we first tried time out with my son ....worked like a charm. The concept worked perfect. His behavior even though hes really a good kid anyway he was angelic as long as we were consistant with it...which we were and it made such a dif. I always thought sometimes their full of you know what
